Staff at the One Broker Group have been busy this August, collecting donations, volunteering their time and lending support to local charities.
Following the success of collecting donations for local Foodbanks last winter, a mountain of tinned baked beans, pasta pots, toothpaste and toilet rolls were collected again this summer to help those in need of living essentials. Each of the 5 offices, all of which are part of the One Broker Group, in Norwich, Cambridge, Swavesey, Bury St. Edmunds and Hertfordshire, were involved in the collection and the donations will be allocated to Food Banks in nearby areas.
Staff also got involved with Food (and Fun) In School Holidays, abbreviated to FISH, which was organised by Norwich Foodbank. Each week 2 members from the Norwich office volunteered their time at a local school, where the children were given a healthy, nutritious lunch and entertained with activities including a water fight!
To top it off, an incredible £400 was raised in support of the One Broker Group’s Charity of the Year, Blood Bikes. Through collecting money from Run Norwich sponsorship and other staff led activities, many individuals from around the region will benefit from the charities commitment to delivering blood products to hospitals around East England.
Allison Partlett, Director at PJW in Hertfordshire, said "It’s great to be part of such a giving company. We have had a lot of fun taking part in the charity appeals and look forwards to continuing our support in the future!".
